Woolworths: Stop funding climate denial
In the wake of the 2019 bushfires, supermarket giant Woolworths continued advertising with the Murdoch Press- a leading contributer to fake news around the climate crisis.

The challenge
GetUp needed a suite of captivating imagery so Woolworths shoppers could connect the supermarket giant’s allegiance with the Murdoch Press.
By bringing attention to Woolworths’ indirect funding of climate misinformation -we were therefore able to convince News Corp to change its editorial stance on climate.
The impact
GetUp's efforts to make such a niche campaign mainstream was effective. We gained media traction and created a storm, resulting in Woolworths cutting their ties with the Murdoch media .
